| THE 20-34 TEAM The "young" team swam in the 20s age group for Masters Nationals in Tucson in 2007. Performing to music from the movie "Drumline", the routine was extremely fast-paced and quite fitting with current US Synchro standards. It featured several lifts and throws, fast switching hybrids, multiple pattern changes and many sequential actions. This group placed second in the 20s Grandmaster age group. |
| THE "SYNCHRO NUTS" Our intermediate team named themselves the "Synchro Nuts" because they are all nuts about the sport of synchronized swimming. To watch them is to know what swimming for the true joy of it really means. They swam this year to a medley of songs from the musical "Grease" and performed like "Greased Lightning" at Nationals in Tucson, outperforming 9 more experienced teams and taking 3rd place in the free routine in the 40s age group! Way to go, ladies!!! |
| THS 35-49 TEAM This team swam to a medley from "Cats". The music was chosen because their coach, Dawn, had been so inspired by seeing a routine to the same music performed many years ago by the Canadian national team. The routine is filled with quick arm and shoulder movements, complex hybrids and a throw. Starting the year with 8 members, various health concerns found only 4 swimmers left for the Nationals in Tucson. The Cats team finished 2nd in the 40s Grandmasters age group by only one tenth of a point. This routine will be performed at the 2008 Masters World Championships in Perth, Australia in April, with three different members. |
| THE 50-64 TEAM The 50s team performed this year to a medley from the musical "Ragtime." Taking advantage of their skilled background (all but one were National, Junior National or Collegiate National finalists), their routine included a variety of skills and interesting choreography well suited to their music. They had twists and spins, innovative arm movements and nice pattern changes. This team placed 2nd in the 50s Grandmaster category in Tucson in 2007. |
